As this period of uncertainty continues, we’d like you to know that you are all on our minds at IAP2 Canada, hoping you and your families are staying safe and healthy! With public gatherings and in-person meetings currently on “pause”, the 2020 IAP2 Canada Skills Symposium in Regina has been cancelled.

But is that stopping us from offering learning opportunities? Not a chance! After an intense couple of weeks of hosting COVID-19 webinars and Coffee Chats to discuss online P2 issues, we are excited to launch the first ever IAP2 Virtual Skills Symposium!

From May 4th to May 15th, many of the courses that were going to be offered in Regina will be presented online. You’ll have the chance to learn from some of the top trainers in North America, in the comfort of your own home! See for yourself the power and potential for online training.

    What to expect

    IMPORTANT:

All online training will be held online using the application Zoom. If your employer does not allow you to download the app on your computer, you may join within your browser application. We recommend using Chrome.

Online training is very different from face-to-face. Online courses will be offered in two or three hour segments with multiple sessions. For example, a traditional one day Skills Symposium course will now be broken up into two 3-hour sessions or three 2-hour sessions, and in some cases over the two week period. Please check out the Schedule-at-a-Glance for more course details and availability.

How will I join my online course(s)? All virtual training will be held in online "zoom rooms". Much like our original symposia, all courses will be live, and and interactive including small group work.

Do I need to be at the live sessions? We encourage all participants to attend all sessions just as you would at a face to face course.

When will my live sessions take place? Some courses run two-hour live sessions, others run three hours. Sessions will run as follows:

    • 3 hr sessions:
      • AM : 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Central Saskatchewan/Mountain Time
      • PM : 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Central Saskatchewan/Mountain Time
    • 2 hr sessions:
      • AM : 9:30 AM - 11:30 AM Central Saskatchewan/Mountain Time
      • PM : 1:30 PM - 3:30 PM Central Saskatchewan/Mountain Time
For more information on course prices, session frequency and length, see our Virtual Skills Symposium Rates section!
