Sarah has worked in communications and community engagement for over 15 years and is a proud new Mom living in Montréal.
Prior to moving to Quebec with her husband she worked with the Calgary Stampede, CBC, VANOC and Whistler Blackcomb. Sarah's experience working for VANOC in the lead-up to the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games inspired her to learn more about the core values of public participation, and with support from the Calgary Stampede, she completed the IAP2 Foundations Course in 2014.
Many of the organizations she has worked for have a strong volunteer presence and she wanted to continue giving back as a volunteer with IAP2. Sarah holds a double degree from the University of Calgary in Communications and Canadian Studies. She started as one of the IAP2 Canada deputy board members in 2015 and was acclaimed as an IAP2 Canada director in 2016.
