This is an opportunity to hear about and discuss engagement with Indigenous peoples and also to experience the hospitality of the Lekwungen people -- the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations.

In the morning, visit the Songhees Wellness Centre. Learn about the Nations’ experience working with neighbouring communities on governance, economic development, environmental stewardship, and other critical issues of common interest and obligation.

Understand Lekwungen efforts to build a thriving economy and a progressive, healthy community that proudly carries its culture and traditions for future generations.

Join us for a catered lunch (for an additional Cdn $20.00), followed by the workshop, Beyond Indigenous Engagement. There, you'll hear from P2 leaders who are leading the work of decolonizing institutions and public engagement and learn about recognizing a colonial approach and seeking culturally-informed ways of working together.
