As part the Communications and Public Affairs team at Vancouver Coastal Health, you'll develop and lead community engagement strategies that ensure the patient’s voice is at the centre of our delivery of care and community members – including diverse patient and client groups, families, public stakeholders and partners – are consulted in planning as part of Vancouver Coastal Health’s (VCH) priorities, strategic initiatives and projects.
Keeping current with trends and best practices in community engagement, particularly within a complex organizational environment, you’re well prepared to lead region-wide projects that require community participation and ensure we are implementing a wide range of tools and techniques to reach patients, clients, residents, families, hard-to-reach public stakeholders and the community at large.
You’ll work with leaders across VCH to integrate community engagement practices and collaborate with Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, Digital Content and Patient Experience to be responsive to community needs, support continuous community dialogue and ensure stakeholders are informed and empowered to provide meaningful input as partners in care. You’ll assess the organization’s community engagement requirements and develop, implement and evaluate broad strategies. You’ll also work across the organization and with other departments to integrate stakeholder needs into planning and decision-making.
