    Le gouvernement du Canada (GC) suscite le dialogue avec le public (citoyens, résidents, peuples autochtones et intervenants) pour éclairer l'élaboration des politiques, des programmes, des services et des initiatives réglementaires. L'objectif de ce dialogue est de donner au public l'occasion de prendre part aux processus décisionnels par le biais d'un dialogue bidirectionnel.

    Besoin:

    Le GC sollicite les services d'entreprises ayant la capacité et l'expertise nécessaires pour entreprendre une, plusieurs ou toutes les activités dans trois catégories et leurs six sous-catégories de services liés aux activités de participation du public, y compris les consultations publiques, selon les besoins et au besoin. Le GC peut également requérir des services similaires pour d'autres types de participation qui guident la prise de décision. Plus de détails sur le besoin sont disponibles dans l'énoncé des travaux.

    The Government of Canada (GC) engages with the public (citizens, residents, Indigenous peoples and stakeholders) to inform the development of policies, programs, services and regulatory initiatives. The goal of this engagement is to give the public the opportunity to participate in decision-making processes through two-way dialogue.


    Requirement:

    The GC seeks the services of firms with the capacity and expertise required to undertake one, several or all activities in three categories and their six sub-categories of services related to public engagement activities, including public consultations, on an as- and when-required basis. The GC may also require similar services for other types of engagement informing decision making. More details on the requirement are available in the Statement of Work.

    Working within the Indigenous & Rural Relations Branch of the Communications, Stakeholder, Indigenous & Rural Relations Department, these positions are located in the community of Fort McMurray, the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo’s urban centre. The Strategist supports the needs of all municipal departments. This role creates public awareness around Strategic Plan goals and priorities, Municipal services, projects, and initiatives through the development, implementation, and measurement of internal and external communications, engagement strategies and plans, and the building of relationships with organizations, groups, and communities across the region.

    Reporting to the Director of the Urban Planning Department, the incumbent must plan activities related to his or her field of expertise such as: public consultation, citizen participation and communications. In this context, he or she must coordinate the implementation of programs and activities according to organizational procedures and policies.

    As such, he or she must manage public consultation, citizen participation and awareness projects, ensure the quality of public participation and consultation processes and ensure the optimal use of municipal and external resources.

    This position is responsible for facilitating meaningful ongoing dialogue between citizens, stakeholders and The City, utilizing the IAP2 model of public participation and The City of Red Deer model. This position is responsible for leading and advising on City public participation and engagement initiatives by working with departments to plan, design, deliver and evaluate public participation strategies and report on outcomes. This position plays a central role in designing and delivering participatory processes resulting in improved decision making. The public participation coordinator utilizes advanced-level knowledge in public participation (IAP2) to establish engagement programs and build capacity that supports The City as it aims to achieve its priorities and address emerging issues.

    Are you passionate about P2 and the standards for the practice?  Do you see IAP2 Certification as prerequisites for jobs and requirements in RFPs?

    The IAP2 Canada Certification Task Force is seeking two motivated individuals for a six-month commitment starting in June. As a Task Force member, you will review the CP3 (Certified Public Participation Professional) certification program materials, continue work on the MCP3 (Master Certified Public Participation Professional) program and certification core competencies, and help recruit qualified assessors to deliver two assessment centres a year.

You will play a key leadership role as part of the management team of the Public  Engagement section, working closely alongside the Director of Public Engagement.
