Indigenous Awareness Learning Program
One of the Indigenous Inclusion Action Plan activities is to develop a common foundation of understanding about the history and experiences of Indigenous Peoples in Canada within IAP2 Canada leadership, so that IAP2 Canada is better able to participate in reconciliation by advancing Indigenous inclusion within the organization and throughout the practice of P2 in Canada.
The Indigenous Awareness for IAP2 Canada Leaders program is a semi-structured learning program to help Canadians build awareness and understanding about the history and experiences of Indigenous Peoples in our country. Learning participants are matched in a small learning team with a volunteer who has experience and comfort working with Indigenous communities. Teams work through four ‘assignments’ designed to support participants to build knowledge and understanding while exploring their own role in reconciliation as P2 professionals, IAP2 Canada leaders, and Canadians.
The learning program is open to anyone actively volunteering with an IAP2 Canada board, committee, or chapter. Click here for an overview of the program and please get in touch if you’d like to learn more.
