Nothing About Us, Without Us: Indigenous Awareness Training

Indigenous awareness training designed by Indigenous voices

About This Course

Why Take This Course

Engaging with Indigenous Peoples and communities without foundational awareness can cause harm, deepen mistrust, and undermine reconciliation. This course gives you the grounding to do better.

You will learn how to:

  • Understand colonialism as a shared experience that affects all Canadians.
  • Recognize how government policies of assimilation have created lasting social, economic, and political challenges.
  • Reflect on how your role, organization, and systems intersect with Indigenous realities.
  • Build the awareness and responsibility needed to engage appropriately — and to know when Indigenous-led processes are required.

This training is educational, reflective, and relational. It does not make you an expert, but it builds the awareness necessary to engage with respect, humility, and accountability.
