IAP2 June Webinar: Denver Encore - "Beyond Inclusion"

What happens when an historically white public agency adopts an agency-wide racial equity strategy developed through deep and sustained community engagement?

Metro, the regional government serving a three-county area surrounding Portland, OR, adopted a Strategy to Advance Racial Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. The process -- which ran from 2012 through 2016 -- involved not just change within the agency, but within the people.
