Pam Robertson is a senior consultant with Urban Systems Ltd with 27 years of experience working as a professional communicator, public participation specialist, and certified adult educator. She provides professional counsel and expertise to a diversity of clients including provincial, municipal and Indigenous governments as well as non-profit organizations. Pam has dedicated her career to creating the environment, dialogue and tools people need to fully participate in shared decision-making and to build their capacity.
Pam is a well-regarded communication and public participation strategist. She is experienced designing and implementing a wide range of communication and public participation plans, techniques and materials. Pam is also an accomplished facilitator whose approach to leading groups through dialogue and collaboration is sensitive and culturally/contextually relevant. Her facilitation approach leaves participants feeling heard and decision-makers with high quality, reliable data. Her experience and formal training have given Pam an ability to minimize the risk of confrontational or disruptive situations during public participation, and the skills to effectively address challenging behaviours when they arise.Pam holds a Bachelor of Communication from Simon Fraser University and is a Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3) through the International Association of Public Participation (IAP2). She is also is an active member on
IAP2 Canada’s Professional Development and Training Committee. Pam is also a Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) through the Canadian Institute for Performance and Learning and an Accredited Business Communicator (ABC) through the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC).
