Hamilton, OntarioJocelyn believes that the most meaningful conversations don’t happen by accident, rather they’re designed with purpose and intention. As a proud Hamiltonian, she has spent over two decades working at the City of Hamilton and is an experienced land use and policy planner. Her proudest work was implementation of Hamilton’s Neighbourhood Action Strategy – a resident-driven, partnership-based initiative that integrated the social determinants of health into meaningful community development to drive change and local participation. As a Registered Professional Planner (RPP, MCIP) and Certified Public Participation Professional (CP3), Jocelyn is committed to creating space for community voices to lead the way in shaping municipal projects. Her goal? To get more people involved in meaningful decision-making by strategically prioritizing inclusion, equity, diversity, and accessibility when designing P2 opportunities. Jocelyn’s training through the International Association for Public Participation (IAP2), with a focus on P2 methods, conflict resolution, and de-escalation techniques reflects her commitment to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces for all voices. Outside of work, Jocelyn is most inspired by her partner and three kids, who remind her daily of the importance of listening, learning, and exploring ideas, spaces and places with curiosity.
